Christie Stewart
An experienced non profit leader, Christie has served for over fifteen years on leadership teams in the housing and homelessness sectors, designing and implementing organizational development strategies and cross-organizational partnerships that drive social impact.
As Director and then Chief Initiative Officer for the Centers for Housing Opportunity from 2018 to 2023, Christie led the collaborative work of the Housing Collective and its partners to establish the first Center in Fairfield County and then to scale that successful strategic partnership and program model to Litchfield County and Eastern CT. She supported Governor Lamont’s Transition Housing Policy committee and facilitated Governor Lamont's Fairfield County transit oriented development task force.
Christie now supports the ongoing work of the Centers and the Housing Collective part time. A native of Southern California, Christie graduated from Duke University with a degree in Political Science. Prior to joining the Housing Collective, she served as the Director of Development at New Reach, Inc., the founder and principal of Moving Families Forward, a development strategist at Imagine LA, and an affiliate development group president for Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
