Lauren Z. Sheehan

Chief Operating & Strategic Officer
The Housing Collective

Lauren’s career began in direct service with New York City’s Department of Homeless Services, supporting households experiencing generational homelessness return to safe, stable housing. She then moved on to lead system-change efforts aimed at ensuring the homeless crisis system is accessible, impactful, and client-centered in Fairfield County and across the state of Connecticut. This included leading all activities to plan, implement, and continuously improve an efficient, effective coordinated access system and maintaining positive, collaborative relationships amongst and with a broad range of partners, leaders, staff, and community residents.

Lauren holds a master’s degree in Social Work Administration and Community Organizing from the University of Connecticut, and dual undergraduate degrees from New York University. She serves as Chair of the Statewide Homeless Management Information System Steering Committee (a body that oversees statewide data collection, analysis, and data-informed decision-making strategies).
