Fairfield County Talks Housing

2025 Legislative Session Recap

Hosted By

During the 2025 legislative session, Connecticut lawmakers passed HB5002, a comprehensive housing bill that reduces barriers to multifamily housing and incentivizes smart development in downtowns and near transit. At the same time, lawmakers did not vote on HB 6889, a set of modest tenant protections intended to keep renters in their apartments by preventing "no fault" evictions.

How did legislators work together to pass HB5002, and what opportunities does it offer to communities, particularly in Fairfield County? What stalled progress on tenant protections? Join Fairfield County Talks Housing for our annual recap of the session where key voices on housing from the Connecticut General Assembly will discuss these questions and more.
