Fairfield County Talks Housing

Fairfield County on Foot: The Changing Footprint of Housing in Fairfield County

Hosted By

Please join the Fairfield County Center for Housing Opportunity and Desegregate CT for a walk audit of the area surrounding the Noroton Heights Metro North Rail station on October 9th from 11:00am - 12:30pm. Darien has reimagined and redeveloped the neighborhood. This event is a terrific opportunity to tour the area, hear about these new mixed-use developments, and learn how Darien has increased the variety of its housing stock. During this event, attendees will learn about the redevelopment from local leaders and developers while getting a pedestrian-level view of the area’s overall environment.

A Walk Audit is an on-the-ground review of a community’s physical conditions. Walk Audits give people a chance to be together outdoors, to get to know their neighbors and local business leaders, and to better understand how their communities would benefit from the investments that come from transit-oriented communities. After our tour, attendees are invited to the Heights Community Room, a Darien Housing Authority property, to continue the discussion about community development in Darien.
