Housing Justice and Advocacy

The Housing Justice Brown Bag Lunch conversation series continues! This event series is designed to engage students and community members to explore the intersection of housing and justice. Lunch will be provided. This event will explore the intersection of advocacy and housing. 

The event takes place on the second floor of the J. Eugene Smith Library, Room 204: Paul E. Johnson, Sr. Community Conference Room.

In 2024, this series began as a partnership between CHO-EC and the Holleran Center for Community Action and Public Policy at Connecticut College. In 2026, CHO-EC is continuing to partner with Eastern Connecticut State University to bring the events to Willimantic. Subject matter experts and practitioners participate in a moderated discussion and a Q&A session with audience members.

Jennifer Paradis, Executive Director, Beth-El Center

Jennifer Paradis has worked with the Beth-El Center for over a decade. She has committed her career to the non-profit sector, serving in a variety of roles for several community non-profits over the past decade with a drive to provide quality and efficient services to low-income individuals and families. Paradis has a bachelor degree in sociology and applied social relations from Eastern Connecticut State University and a master’s degree in organizational leadership from Quinnipiac University with a concentration in nonprofit management.
