The Department of Housing (DOH) strengthens and revitalizes communities by promoting affordable housing opportunities. DOH seeks to eliminate homelessness and to catalyze the creation and preservation of quality, affordable housing to meet the needs of all individuals and families statewide to ensure that Connecticut continues to be a great place to live and work.

Our mission is to provide access to justice and protect the critical civil legal rights of low-income individuals and families through representation, systemic advocacy, advice, collaboration, and education. We serve low-income families in 122 of the 169 Connecticut communities (our sister agencies serve areas of greater Hartford and greater New Haven). Our service area includes hundreds of thousands of families eligible for our services.

CT Tenants Union organizes for tenant power to ensure every person has access to safe, stable housing. We must build a Connecticut for the multiracial working class—a Connecticut which guarantees a home for all. We must build a Connecticut committed to the well-being of all its citizens.

We provide data and data support so that nonprofits, state agencies, businesses, and the public can make decisions and work toward equity – all informed by data. We seek to connect people like you with data that will help you make informed decisions. We also seek to engage the people most affected by the decisions in the data exploration when possible. 

The mission of the Connecticut Fair Housing Center is to ensure that all people have equal access to housing opportunities in Connecticut, free from discrimination. In support of our mission, the Center conducts statewide education and outreach to ensure residents understand their fair housing rights and works with state and local governments, housing professionals, and others to promote compliance with federal and state fair housing laws.

The HBRA of Connecticut is your voice at the Capitol. We draft legislation, challenge harmful regulations, and advocate for policies that protect and promote the housing industry. From public hearings to private meetings with lawmakers, we’re actively shaping the future of homebuilding in Connecticut. Backed by a strong board, expert staff, and engaged members, we tackle industry challenges, drive growth, and uphold the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.

The goal of MyHomeCT is to cure mortgage delinquencies and defaults, and prevent foreclosures among eligible homeowners that occurred as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The program also includes assistance for qualified non-mortgage expenses including, but not limited to, real estate taxes and insurance as well as condominium or homeowners' association fees.

The Housing for All Alliance is a statewide network of neighbors, resident leaders, grassroots groups, and organizations working together to build local power and advance housing solutions and housing justice. Together, we are laying the groundwork for a Connecticut where everyone can afford to live, stay, and thrive in their community.

Neighbors for Housing Southern CT is a grassroots group with members from New Haven and nearby towns, united to confront the region’s housing shortage. We advocate for specific projects and policies that make room for safe homes of all shapes and sizes therefore lowering costs, stewarding the environment, and supporting economic growth.

Partnership for Strong Communities promotes equitable change in Connecticut housing policy by coordinating advocacy, advancing research, and uniting diverse partners.
